Milky Way And Lighthouse At Stanley Park I saw a post on the internet on how to bring out the milky way in very light polluted locations. I tried their procedure and sure enough - you can see it a little bit. There is also a meteor in this shot - the perseid meteor shower was starting.

Feint Milky Way Above Trees The contrast/lighting difference between the trees and the sky is quite difficult to overcome. I settled for a bit of "marine fog".

Downtown Vancouver From Stanley Park This is from the little bay between Deadman's Island and Hallelujah Point. It's a composite of 5 images.

Red Huckleberry I'm always a little worried picking red fruit.

Oval Leaf Blueberry It's been a long dry summer - the trees don't have much fruit.

Beaked Hazelnut This was a surprise to me - I thought it was a young alder, but it's actually an edible nut species. This species does live under the Alder family.

Claira Touching Blood Star These stars are great - bright colour and really recognizable arm length to radius.

Claira With Ochre Star A few years ago, we had a huge outbreak of a sea star wasting disease. I'm surprised there are large examples of stars now.
