Vanilla Leaf This is a really common "in between" plant that grows in well covered forests.

Nara Digging Out Fossil The beach is mostly flat shale. In some places you will see the shale bend into a mound over an encapsulated blob. That blob is your fossil.

Taking Cable Ferry To Denman This cable thing is new to me - it has been running for a few years. By riding cables instead of propellor, the ferry uses 1/4 the amount of fuel. The center cable lasts for 8 months until it is replaced and it replaces a side cable - total cable life is about 2 years. I sure hope those old rusty cables are recycled.

We are coming into Denman Island.

Waiting For Ferry To Hornby The ferry from Denman to Hornby is small so missed two ferries. They terminal had a puzzle set up at one table and Jenga at another. People did work on both of them.

Pilings With Bird Boxes These bird boxes are for Purple Martins. I've seen them again with birds in them.
