Tree Swallows Mating I have photos of these two birds actually doing the act - this seems a bit more romantic. I can just imagine what she is saying. Surprisingly, this shot is handheld at 800mm.

Iona Spit At Sunset The sun had actually set at this point. This is a 3 frame HDR image.

Female Rufous On Blackberry These really are small birds. Thankfully, they seem very patient with people.

Male Yellowthroat Singing These birds tend to hide in the brush, slowly working their way to the top, and then they drop down. This individual seemed to spend a lot of time at the top of the bush.

Red Wing Blackbird Comparison Red Wing Blackbirds were quite common in the Marsh - you could easily see two or three at any time. I thought it would be handy to have a photo of a Red Winged Blackbird in similar light, but it turns out they aren't closely related to Yellow Headed Blackbirds.

Yellow Headed Blackbird There were at least two in the marsh - you could hear one call and then the other. Not that closely related to the Red Winged Black bird - different family.

Cotton Wood And Brown Eyed Susan At Sunset This is a two image stack - the background was shot separate from the flowers because I couldn't get them both in focus without motion blur on the flowers.

Cedar Waxwing Building Nest Unfortunately, this tree was right next to a foot path and this nest was abandoned a week later.
