Marcus With Green Bucket The plastic scoop really was no match for the rocks on the beach.

Nara Throwing A Rock Compared to the boys in swimming class, Nara isn't much of a thrower. That said, she is getting better - those stones are pretty heavy.

Short Billed Dowitcher The spotting scope people were sure this was a short billed. I can't tell from the photos I was able to take.

Mixed Flock This has the bar-tailed Godwit with the black bellied plovers to give a comparison for size. If the bird has it's beak out, it's easy to spot but if it's sleeping or beak in the sand, it blends in pretty well.

Black Bellied Plovers You can see a mix of belly colours here. The black ones are probably multi-year olds and the white ones are probably in their first year.

Bar-tailed Godwit They have a funny behaviour where they still their bill in all the way to their face. They seemed pretty successful at pulling food out of the sand.
