Paddle Over Shallow Water
We are drifting in the current of the small river. There isn't enough water underneath us to sink a paddle in completely, but the boat still runs well.
Purple stars (Pisaster Ochraceus) come in three different colours - Purple, Brown and Yellow. The stars (which are quite mobile under water) eat mostly mussels.
Kaying between two islands in the Stopper group (South West of Spitfire Island) we came through this channel that was only 6 inches deep. Gliding over shallow water in a Kayak is magic.
We got the Kayaks in the water and made a bee line for the Hot Spring. You can see the remnants of an old pier and the rocks form the hot spring. You can see the worn trail up to the spring.
