Western Toad In Moss
My good friend Bufo boreas. I was walking in the forest when I saw him and I called Steve over to catch him. Turns out this toad isn't scared of people - it is toxic to eat so he put up with being posed on a near by patch of moss.

Tree With Green
This fallen tree is covered with the new plants trying to soak up the sun.

This was a chunck of ground on Bodega Ridge.  I think if I was going
to do this again, I would do more of a close up.  I'm surprised how poorly this
image compresses.

Wrinkly Tree

This is a hemlock tree has a lot of wrinkles in the Bark.  Andrea
and I suspect it's caused by preasure.

This is a fallen cedar and it's covered in many different types of mosses.  It
amazing that something as slow growing as moss can have so
many niche's and competition.

Moss

This is the side of a tree - there are multiple types of moss growing here.
The most common is (I think) Oregon Beaked Moss.  This photo needs more depth
of field.

The moss on the trees reminds me of some trees in Gold Stream Park
on Vancouver Island.
