The soil is so thin that the spiecies change depending on
how close the rocks are to the surface.

Flowers in a Field

The sun was out for only a few minutes but it was low to the horizon which made the flowers interesting.

Paintbrush And Lupine
I really like bright colours so this was a natural photo for me.
Species: Castilleja miniata (Giant Red Indian Paintbrush), Lupinus arcticus (Arctic Lupine)

Arctic Lupine and Arnica
The purple flowers are Artic Lupine - Lupinus arcticus. The yellow flowers are probably Mountain Arnica - Arnica latifolia, or Hairy Arnica - Arnica mollis - apparently the Arnica family hybrids easily.

Blowing Hairy Arnica
I believe the yellow flowers are Hairy Arnica - Arnica mollis. I've always like blowing flower pictures, but you have to find the right combination of bright flowers and dark background.

Flowers By Picnic Tables
