Pod Swimming By
We were starting to pull away when this pod popped up. That is likely a young whale between the two females and you can see the larger male dorsal fin with a wave in it.
Species: Orcinus orca (killer whale, orca)

Large Male Leaving
This is a the same male that was photographed in the next four shots.

Waving Fin

The whales rise to the surface to breath and then slowly sink away.

Species: Megaptera novaeangliae (Humpback Whale)

Breaching Humpback

My Bad. My camera wasn't auto focusing and I don't have enough practice doing it manually.
I guess I'm just going to have to go on another whale watching tour.

Light Fins Under Water

The fins are white and are visible through at least 50 feet of water.

Species: Megaptera novaeangliae (Humpback Whale)

Humpback Whale

The fin is long and near the back of the whale - hence the name Humpback.

Harbour Porpoises in Bentinck Arm

There were about 25 whales traveling together in little groups of about 5 whales.
They would surface about three times and then stay under for about a minute.

Female Orca Blowing

I've seen lots of Orca's on -2 Channel, but seeing them live
is something special.

Male Orca Blowing

The male Dorsel Fins are impressive. They stand out in a group and when the they get close
they are easy to spot.

Pod of Female Orcas

I like this shot because the two lead Orcas are blowing and you can see the drops
spattering on the surface.

Female Orca Looking at Us

This whale came up to the boat and just looked at us before diving under the boat and continuing on with the pod.

Female and Male Orca

The male in front has a much larger dorsal fin than the female.

Looking Down Humpback Whale Blow

A little challanged from this view angle, but you get the idea.

The shutter speed was a bit too slow here.  The timing is good though.
