Dicksonia squarrosa, Unfurling fiddlehead
As I understand it, there are about 20 species fern in New Zealand. I asked and got the suggestion this is Dicksonia squarrosa which matches what google images shows.

Ring Tailed Pheasant
This a European import that has become endemic - Ring Tailed Pheasant. Apparently they are good to eat but this one is almost a pet.

Mixing Water Sources
There are lots of geysers on the water and they each give off a bit of water. Add enough of these together and you get a stream. Different geysers have different sediment loads.
