Western Anemone - Anemone occidentalis
This isn't the flower - it's the seed stage of Western Anemone - Anemone occidentalis. It was surprisingly hard to find in the guide books, but it is quite common at Manning Park.
Species: Pulsatilla occidentalis (White Pasqueflower)

City Bird
I know there is no such thing as a "Sea Gull", but I was in for a surprise when I got home - I need to see the colors of the legs to be sure what species I'm dealing with. Thankfully I remember they weren't yellow.
Species: Larus glaucescens (glaucous-winged gull)

Chipmunk On Rock
I like this particular silhouette - it gives you a sense of how high up this animal is.

Sakura With Torii
Classic "it's out of focus (and cropped), but you still recognize it. I shot this with a long lens and after I shot it, I noticed other photographers standing in my place to take the same shot.

Blurry Pedals
I like how the tips of the pedals are have a thin region where the focus changes. It's difficult to see if the pedal tips are forward or back.

Blade Frosted
I think I would have liked the background 1 stop fuzzier, but the depth of field was already a pain.

Dafodil
The date is approximate (might be a week too early) - I took these photos as part of my project for my first photo course at Emily Carr. This picture shows the strong back lighting.

Dafodil Looking Down
The date is approximate (might be a week too early) - I took these photos as part of my project for my first photo course at Emily Carr. The negative for this has been scratched and printing it in a dark room (It was a special request) is very difficult.

Tulip Touching Itself
This one always makes me grin. I enjoy how soft the curves of the stem are, but there isn't quite enough light on the background, making printing difficult.
