Rat Temple
This Temple is on the Philosophers Walk - Rats don't get a very good rap in the western world, but they seem to be respected in Japan.

Walk in the Afternoon
After walking around Nikko kicked us out at closing time (5pm). We walked up the road from our Hotel and found this little park. We think the red hat markers are some sort of memorial.

Our Hotel
We suspect these are grave markers. The are obviously old (and there are a few different styles), but they have recently been taken care of.

Statue In Garden
Apparently there are four statues, each representing a different season. I don't know which season this is.

This is in front of the castle, where the concrete (used to be grass) steps take you down to the castle.
