Log Chute

When this forest was being activly logged, they built this chute to move logs from
down to the mill area.

Log Boom in Larso Bay

We couldn't find a suitable anchorage near Tallheo Hot Springs so
we went across the Arm to Larso Bay.  This bay was a logging site so there is
still a large log boom here.  We tied up while some of us went Kayaking and
others went fishing.

Hundreds of Spray Cans

When a load of logs is ready for market, it is sprayed with paint
and tagged.  These are the partially used remains of the spray can depot.
Most cans still have paint in them and some cans have already burst.

Pile of Cable

I believe this cable is used to secure the logs on the loading trucks.    It's been left here to
(in a few hundred years) rust and rot away.

Log Sorting Yard

Once the logs were unloaded from the trucks, they would be brought down here, sorted
and then floated out into the log boom area to be towed to market.

Log Loading Thing

I think this helped unload the logs, but I really don't know.

Jenny At Jenny Inlet

Welcome to Jenny Inlet!  This area appears to have been logged in 1992, apparently by interfor.

Panoramic View of Jenny Inlet

This is four shots, poorly combined.  The area has been extensively
logged and there are logging roads.

Log Loading Crane at Doc Creek (Nootsum River)

Logs are pulled off of trucks and into the water. The logs are then
bundled together and pulled to market.

Logging Site on Doc Creek

This looks like it is still an active logging site.

Cut Log

When we arrived we found a BC Parks crew cutting a huge cedar log that had fallen
across the road.  The tree next to it had been cut down years before (the lumber stolen) and it had effected the drainage.
