Welcome to Shearwater BC!  This is the resort half of Bella Bella.  The large marina
holds many tourist boats (many from the US) and the buildings house a small store, laundry,
a post office, a general store and a large marine repair facility.  There is a pub!  You can
see the water taxi between Shearwater and Bella Bella on the left.

building is the Anglican church.

Dynamic action shot time!  We are in the South Bentinck Arm just
past the Tallheo hot spring.

This is the Curve of Time in the South Bentinck Arm.
That big rock is called the Bentinck Spire.

I think this is my favorite shot - We are in the South Bentinck Arm, just past
the Tallheo Hot Spring with the Bentinck Spire in the background.

We couldn't find a suitable anchorage near Tallheo Hot Springs so
we went across the Arm to Larso Bay.  This bay was a logging site so there is
still a large log boom here.  We tied up while some of us went Kayaking and
others went fishing.

This cabin is probably a hunting cabin. It's in really good shape. There is a bear in this scene - can you find it?

I beleive this is a hangning valley.  The glacier would flow out of the valley and onto another glacier
that was flowing down cascade inlet.  Now that the glaciers are gone, you are left witha a valley that hangs out
over cascade inlet.

This is the view from the Zodiak as we pull around to Elcho Harbour where the
Curve of Time is parked (we couldn't anchor).  The beach (about the middle of the frame)
is where we pulled the Zodiak in and where the Petroglyph is.  The marker is on the hill
and the carving is in the rock bluff on the right.

Codville Lagoon is a sheltered lagoon on the Eastern side of the Fisher Channel.

This is our view from the Cultus Sound anchorage looking North.
We are still in the Hakai Recreation Area.

This goes to show how hard the rock is here - the falls haven't cur a single
path down the rock face, but they have cleared the trees away.  The fault in the
rocks has been eroded out.

This is a thin waterfall now but I bet in the spring run off it's pretty large.

It's close to Cascade Inlet, but the geography is much softer.  This bay
is a good harbour so it's popular destination for recreational boaters.

At first we tried anchoring in the secluded bay but for the first time ever, I saw
the bottom under the Curve of Time. Because the tides shift anchor's, we decided it would be
safer in the large, but more exposed bay outside. (I took this picture from the crows nest)

I was a little surprised when I looked through my slides, how many shots I have
with waiting Kayaks in them.  It seems there isn't much to photograph between the boat and shore.
