Pear Shaped Puffball
There is a part of the park where these mushrooms are usually abundant and this year was no exception. There were young to old mushrooms which makes identification easier.

Mourning Cloak On Fallen Log
This butterfly didn't perch for long, but it did keep coming back to the path. My strategy with Butterflies is to start taking photos, even when I'm quite far away so that I have "something".

Alder Tree Torn With Blackberries
I really like the blackberries at the bottom of this stump. It reminds me of a tombstone with flowers.

Normally, this place would be dominated by Himalayan Blackberry. I think there has been a huge amount of invasive species removal here.

Species: Rubus ursinus (Trailing Blackberry)

Meadow Mushrooms Pushing Up
This is one of those "you had better be right" kind of mushrooms because there are similar looking mushrooms that are poisonous. The red stain when cut was listed in the book.
