Salmon Roe On Rocks
The Roe were also supposed to be part of the sushi night. It makes me sad that a fish lived for four years, survived no end of threats, just to make these eggs which we didn't actually eat.

Eggs Cooking
Many of the hot springs were selling hard boiled eggs cooked in the spring water. These eggs were 50 yen each (70 cents Canadian) and included a little packet of salt. There was no sulfur taste.
