Fish Monger
She is looking right at me but I don't think she was angry afterwards. Foreigners do stick out like sore thumbs.

Plate Of Fish
My best guess is that these are "Argyrops bleekeri", sometimes called Taiwan tai. It is rated "Least Concern" for going extinct.

Fish Monger
The fish here made me sad - the presentation doesn't give you the sense that this person really cares about the fish. We aren't anywhere near the ocean so I suspect much of this is freshwater fish.

Ascidians - Halocynthia roretzi
The internet has come through - apparently they are ascidians - specifically Halocynthia roretzi. Ascidians are sea squirts — hermaphrodite marine invertebrates that live in shallow ocean waters, and which are thought to exhibit characteristics of the evolutionary ancestors of chordates and vertebrates. (Thanks goes to Karen Sanamyan at ascidiacea.com/
Species: Halocynthia roretzi (Maboya in Japanese)

Octopus Balled Up
This is going to become sushi in some restaurant. Perhaps a little Takoyaki? See an example in a Kyoto Market

Snails
I'm not sure why the shells on these snails are so broken. I'm not sure if these are salt water or fresh or how it's eaten.
