I don't have a good snail guide book (I have never found one), but Robert Forsyth seems to be working on a snail guide book for BC. He was kind enough to offer his opinion on this snail photo:
Hi John, I've taken a look at your photo. It is a haplotrematid (family Haplotrematidae), and is a half-grown individual. Not being able to see more clearly some fine details of shell micro-sculpture, I cannot be entirely certain of its Identification, but I'd say (about 85% certain) that it is Haplotrema vancouverense -- the Robust Lancetooth snail, a common (and one of the larger) species of land snail along the BC coast.
