This is the bridge to Nijubashi - part of the private part of the Imperial Palace.  The
area is generally inaccessible to people except new years and the emperors birthday.

I'm actually surprised how often I get comments like this. What can I say? These are my vacation pictures - I'm not trying to be an encyclopedia. (Funny enough - the wikipedia doesn't have an article either). Perhaps a guide book would help? Post your question on a forum?
