Namu used to be a self contained fish processing area - The store was large and could suply
the ships with both their food needs and equiptment for boat repair.  The building on the left
is a restaurant/diner.

This brings back memories. My dad was an engineer at the fish cannery in either 1956 or 1957. I was only 9 or 10 & remember going to the one room school with several grades being taught at the same time. Also remember swinging on a thick rope out over the rocks & ocean with other kids for fun. Loved it there.
