Haliotis kamtschatkana (pinto abalone, Northern abalone, Japanese abalone)

Mike caught a live one!  The holes on the top allow water to flow over the gills.  I was
surprised by the number of stalks on the body.  My guide book says this animal can
live up to 50 years - we returned it to the ocean shortly after I took this picture.
